Futsal is an integral part of the program at Queensland Football School. All students at Queensland Football School will be trained by accredited futsal coaches and play in futsal competitions.

The benefits of futsal are undeniable. Studies have shown that futsal players touch the ball between 4 and 6 times more often than footballers during a match. Futsal players develop confidence in taking players on 1 v 1. Due to the speed of play, futsal players have an improved reaction time as there is less time to make decisions. A futsal court encourages creative play due to the size of the court; players must perfect the necessary skills to get out of tight spaces and score goals.

Many famous footballers credit their success with playing futsal as a child, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, Pele, Xavi and Ronaldo to name a few.

"During my childhood in Portugal, all we played was futsal. The small playing area helped me improve my close control, and whenever I played futsal I felt free. If it wasn't for futsal I wouldn't be the player I am today."
— Cristiano Ronaldo
"In futsal, you see whether a player is really talented. In normal football you don't necessarily identify talent as easily because it's so much more physical. But with futsal, you notice the small details in quality, class and tactical understanding."
— Xavi
